Star Wars R2D2 Interactive Droid Toy

Now one thing that really annoys me is people who don’t realize that the original trilogy had a sidekick just as annoying as Jar Jar Binks. His name was 3CPO and unlike Jar Jar, he’s also present in all 6 movies which makes him doubly annoying.

Now the same can’t be said about R2D2, unlike 3CPO, he actually has the common decency to be completely unintelligible for all of the movies. Add to that, and he actually manages to do stuff except stand around and complain. It’s no wonder then that he’s the Star Wars aficionado’s  favorite sidekick. And for the Star Wars geek who’d like the real thing but can’t wait until the robotics industry gets its’ shit together, we have this great little geek toy.

He responds to over 40 voice commands, can hold your soda (or beer) and does a bunch of other stuff as well. Sure, he can’t cook or clean yet, but that’s only a matter of time. He stands about 15″ tall, which isn’t exactly huge, but the modest price means you don’t have to shell out too much dosh at least.
