5 Hilarious Sock Puppet Parody Music Videos

Everyone loves sock puppets right? Well, maybe not Homer Simpson, but the rest of us do. Unlike the snobbish elite of the puppetry world, sock puppets aren’t afraid to convey their emotions, they’re always on hand and, most importantly, they rock.

Yep, sock puppets have taken the music world by storm by re-imagining classic songs on their YouTube channel. Rage Against the Machine, Nirvana, Metallica, Sex Pistols and Slayer all get the pre-wash treatment with more to come in 2015.

Rage Against the Washing Machine – “Searching for the Lost Sock”

As a protest against the society’s evils, the sock puppets lament the loss when pairs of socks get divided during the turmoil of the laundry process with the heart-felt refrain, “fold you I, ain’t doing my laundry.”

Smellvana – “Smells Like Teen Hamper”

The sock puppets portray the angst of being a sock in the washing hamper, wanting nothing more than to be sanitized and cleaned of the grunge afflicting dirty socks everywhere.

Lintallica – “Master of Sock Puppets”

As an obvious choice for a sock puppet band, “Master of Sock Puppets” excels in the lyric writing. There are laugh out loud moments in the involved narrative that is typical of many metal songs.

Sox Pistols – “Anarchy in the Sock Drawer”

The classic punk anthem comes to life in a fast-paced call for anarchy in the sock drawer and a vehement protest against mothers folding socks evenly.

Stayner – “Raining Bleach”

The horror of not separating red socks from whites in the wash is given a thrash metal treatment by the sock puppets, and the only solution is for it to rain bleach.
